About

This is the story of The Unknown Entrepreneur. A story of outstanding effort and belief coupled with misfortune and unhappiness covering three decades. A story of strength and learning for all to understand and acknowledge. Many of you will agree and some of you will disagree, because, unless you have experienced it you cannot quite imagine what it’s like to  be thrown about on the business roller coaster ride that rattles every bone in your body and tests the inner and outer strength of man to the absolute limits.

Why do we lose so many Entrepreneurs? The Simple answer is because we all either forget or just do not appreciate what risks Entrepreneurs take in trying to make their “Dreams a Reality”. Many never truly recover from their battle scars, some get lucky and few, very few, actually live to see their Dream.

I am an Entrepreneur. I do not want other Entrepreneurs to have to go through the pains that I have experienced. I will share my life, my challenges, my success in the hope that some of you will benefit from my experiences. If I can help one person find something inside themselves to carry on their fight then I will be a happy individual.

My entries are written in no specific date order and the time-line will move back and fourth between the present and the future. Different situations in my life have varying meanings for me personally. I will try to make the story an interesting read and i am sure as i grow more confident in writing more personal and challenging experiences that i have had as we progress with the blog.

Welcome my to my life “The Unknown Entrepreneur”

Dear Bradley,

I thought that you might be interested in receiving a copy of Donna Childs’ new book, PREPARE FOR THE WORST, PLAN FOR THE BEST: Disaster Preparedness and Recovery for Small Businesses.

Donna is a former senior executive at one of the world’s largest reinsurance companies, a position that required her to deal with major disasters on a daily basis – experience that proved to be critical when she established her own small business in Lower Manhattan. Her company was directly impacted by the events of September 11, and that experience gave her firsthand knowledge of the impact that any disaster can have on a small business.

In PREPARE FOR THE WORST, Childs shows readers how to create simple, individualized plans that will not only mitigate losses, but help accelerate recovery – and whenever possible – allow companies to keep operating, no matter what has occurred. Her advice will also help lower costs and increase productivity, even if disaster never strikes.

Whether problems are due to human error, equipment failure, technology and security breaches, environmental hazards, fire or other disasters, PREPARE FOR THE WORST, PLAN FOR THE BEST teaches readers how to integrate contingency planning into their overall business strategies. Please let me know if you would like to receive a copy of the book.

Best,

Lauren
