Good morning Everybody

Interestingly i was talking to a business acquaintance the other day about confidence. Not just confidence in what we do and who we are but confidence in the advice that we give and whether that advice actually helps the person/ business that we offered it to?

When Entrepreneurs feel good about themselves and they feel that they have the midas touch it is almost as if whatever they touch turns to gold. To the contrary when an Entrepreneur has been through a rough and challenging time both emotionally and physically they can find themselves not saying what they actually want to say just in case they get it wrong and they become concerned that if the advice goes wrong that it will reflect badly on them….

Confidence “The Meaning”

“A belief and a self-assurance in one’s own abilities. In competitive sport, confidence includes having an expectation of success. Very often the most successful sports people have high levels of confidence, but it is situation-specific: e.g. a person who is highly confident when playing tennis may not be confident when swimming.”

I would say this about giving advice:-

1 - It’s not easy because most people are not honest with you

2 - Giving advice is a way of supporting someone else’s thought process

3 - If you have been asked it is because someone obviously respects your point of view

Regardless about how you feel whether you feel like Midas or feel like Mud - say what you feel and go with your first instincts.. After all you are only giving advice and besides the people who ask for advice normally have their own answers, but there may well be something that you say that could help with any given situation that they then consider building into their equation.

I guess the bottom line is that anybody can give advice and i was taught that even a fool can teach you something. However i would much rather say my thoughts now and be right or wrong than not say what i want to say and have any regrets down the line at not having said what i should have..

So my fellow Entrepreneurs whether your feeling down or on top of the world hold on to your belief and your thought processes as it is that kind of resilience that makes us all innovators..

It’s Monday morning and i wanted to share last week thoughts and feelings with you all…

Why do people judge you when they do not even know you?
Why do people assume that because they heard a story they naturally think its true?

Why are most people so shallow that they do not have the balls to tell you something to your face?

The bottom line is that most people lack the character to establish the truth in order that that can then make an informed opinion based on actual fact.

MOST PEOPLE ARE WEAK, SHALLOW AND LACK THE CHARACTER TO STAND TALL AND SAY THIS IS WHO I AM, THESE ARE THE MISTAKES I HAVE MADE AND THIS IS WHERE I INTEND TO GO!

You can judge me and you can even be my jury but unless you have walked in my shoes then don’t execute me. . Do you think because you know someone or you are related to someone that has and Auschwitz prisoner number tattooed on their arm, that you think you know what it was like to actually have Ben there?

Million Impossible was named so because so many people actually want to become a Millionaire and dream of driving the Ferrari up the 2 mile driveway to their home but it was also named so because of the Impossible journey that many of us face not just in business but in our personal lives also.

The next time you ask your friend if they are OK remember one thing.

Most people cannot express or do not wish to share their feelings because to do so leaves them with the feeling of being totally naked and exposed to emotional reprisals. So what do we do? We keep it all bottle up inside which actually compounds the problem.

Don’t Judge them, because actually they may be stronger than you think and maybe they are wise enough to know that if they told you what was really going on you would fall apart!

I have just returned from a great weekend in the Lake District and for the first time in my life have had a woman who cares very much about me treat me to a great time away with our 4 combined children. Well if the 6 hour drive there and back was not enough time to reflect my thoughts feelings and direction then Centerparcs and 4 days of cycling up and down hills (with kids in carry buggies and jelly legs) gave me plenty to think about… Thanks Emma - I just wish i could give you more of my heart, mind and soul but I’m still not ready to take the next step without feeling complete as a man and a business person/ Entrepreneur. I hope that i can find myself once more as time will certainly show.

OK so here is my synopsis and just to recap for any new readers. My name is Bradley and after some reasonable success in my life found myself bankrupt and heartbroken at 37 years of age… Life ripped apart from a mixture of bad decisions and bad luck as well as poor judgments.

I decided that enough was enough and i got 5 people together to start what i thought was the beginning of my life “TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT WOULD HELP BUSINESS PEOPLE” Million Impossible was born www.millionimpossible.com a website where entrepreneurs could unite together and share their most naked and raw thoughts about being in business… I also thought that if businesses had the opportunity to advertise their businesses for free that we would have covered two of the most important foundations for new and existing businesses - (1) Building a network of trusted people that you can work with through your business career (2) Advertise and promote your business on a very  cost effective basis………….

Business can only survive through making profit and we have lost money for 8 months to get our Websites live, interesting, useful and above all warming enough to make people feel at home so that they can actually realise the benefits of using such a website..

WELL IT IS NOT AS EASY AS THAT IS IT?

I have been reflecting on my personal and  business position… Million Impossible currently has around 750 members and growing now at circa 80-100 per week and Business Sourcer now has around 1600 advertisers with nearly 5000 adverts live. The business is growing but not fast enough….

We are now on average across the month just breaking even!
We are not moving forward quickly enough
We need more investment to make the profit levels that we need to make!

I am mentally tired, physically exhausted, hugely frustrated and feel absolutely battered by all what has happened to me over the last two years and above all have a large doubt as to whether we will become successful on our current path…. I mean , we have a great web site and a good business model but we certainly do not have the funds Facebook has and really who wants it invest in an idea from someone who has gone thought bankruptcy?

On ReflectionIf i could change things right now what would they be ???????????????????

First i would lean to smile again. I do not smile as much as i used to an my sense of humour used to be wicked and i guess the pressure has changed that… They say that a smil can travel the world and now we are trying to get an esmile to travel the world.

As far as the business is concerned this is what we need to right now

1. Find a suitable investor who can help us move to the business forward
2. Increase our sales team so that we can increase our income/revenue
3. Increase the awareness and visibility of our three main websites
4. Create a enjoyable place to work that we can feel proud of having created it
5. Build Million Impossible and get ready to launch www.billionimpossible.com in the USA
6. Prove to all the people that have doubted us or tried to hurt our business that we are strong enough to overcome any adversity

You know i am not a superman or superhero, In fact i am just an ordinary man who had a dream, a dream that one day life would be easier for his kids and himself.

So where do we go from here. Do i accept that the business will hobble along until such time as it starts to grow? Will the business grow? Am i honestly being realistic in believing that it could work?

OR SHOULD I JUST GIVE IN?

So many people have commented on our site, so many people say “What a great Idea”…. Well myself Heidi and Colin also think its a great idea but with any ambitious plans that Entrepreneurs come up with “You have to return a Profit”.

Someone one told me a while ago that at a meeting of 600 business people only one person was happy with their business. That’s less 0.16% happy business people or to put it another way that 99.84% of business people who are either worried about their current business position or are facing some crucial and critical decisions to either save their business or move it on!

AM I THE ONLY THE ONE WHO CAN BE TOTALLY HONEST THAT IT IS NOT EASY BEING IN BUSINESS IN TODAY’S CLIMATE……………. You don’t have to wear a badge on your sleeve to have Honour…. So why is it that Business People still insist in saying “I’m Fine” “I’m Fine”………….. People it’s time to lift your skirts, grab your balls and make a decision!

I guess that i could have taken a much easier route to potentially earn money but something inside me and i guess it’s the softer side of me or the human side that feels so deeply for all the budding and aspiring Entrepreneurs that do not quite make it and the pain that they go through during the aftermath that follows a failed enterprise - The strong get back up and try again with the new knowledge that they have gained.

I cannot wave a magic wand and make everybody successful business people (including myself)  and i guess nobody can. That’s why i was compelled to launch Million Impossible. Well you all know my story by now, fro loosing everything to starting with nothing…. My blogs tell you all what i have been through… and of course i am facing my own dilemmas, exactly the same as everybody else - THE CHALLENGES OF GROWING A START UP BUSINESS AFFECT US ALL IN DIFFERENT WAYS!

Million Impossible is not to far away form reaching our 1000th member and after only 6 months of trading we are really proud (and somewhat exhausted) that we have come this far with such a limited capital. Some of you may say 1000 members “that’s not a high number compared to say facebook”… but when you look at what we created and the websites that we have had to design to support our Entrepreneur start up packages - well we think we have done OK….

Just today I am faced with our first main internal wrangle among the sales team… I cannot stand the corporate separation that some/ most businesses go through. It is vitally important that all teams pull together and that every one pulls their individual weight, even excelling at times when your co-workers are having a tough day.

Our business is at a very crucial stage right now. We are so nearly have a business and we are just as close to having to step back and consolidate ahead of further investment being required. If we can achieve what we have planned without further investment then Million Impossible really could be a true testament to what we said originally “Anybody can make their dreams a reality as long as they have passion, belief, determination and a will to win regardless of race, age, gender and financial circumstance”.

Everybody wants to be an Entrepreneur. The idea of owning the title of ENTREPRENEUR fascinates everybody and equally excites and fires the courage within us all but very few who wish to have the title of ENTREPRENEUR actually know what to do let alone handle the pain the Entrepreneur’s are confronted with every day!

Million Impossible was created to help Entrepreneurs initially in the UK to network together and share ideas, increase sales, decrease purchasing costs and above all to promote themselves and their businesses.

What we have found is that there are very few people that actually come to the table fighting for that piece of the sales pie or indeed wish to save 5% on the bottom line! Astounding isn’t it to think that we all class ourselves as Entrepreneurs, however, many of us do not actually know the first thing about Entrepreneurialism and that’s why so many fall at the first sign of pressure..

When you finally take the step to becoming an Entrepreneur ,did you really think and plan out your operation and even make some kind of contingency plan? - we’ll you are not alone most of us are the same as we march into our start ups like something resembling a scene from the film ”The Charge of the Light Brigade”.

If your thinking about becoming an Entrepreneur then think again, think again and then think again and then ask your self the following question

ARE YOU PREPARED TO GIVE UP YOUR LIFESTYLE, YOUR ASSETS, YOUR TIME, YOUR ENERGY AND YOUR HEART MIND AND SOUL TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS? ARE YOU PREPARED TO GO TO HELL AND BACK - BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT IT IS GOING TO TAKE.

If the answer is no to any of the above then choose another path as being an Entrepreneur is not for you!

During your journey, unless you are very lucky and have heaps of money at least 90% of budding Entrepreneurs will reach a point where they either have to sell everything they own to continue to support their dream or you may indeed have already sold everything in order to continue or close down.

If your product is not working and there has been little or no take up in the market, then it may well be time to hang up your boots and look for a new idea (which a lot of entrepreneurs do) . Now if your product is working and you need a cash injection to bring your business into profitability then of course you should consider consider selling some of the equity in your business and bring in a partner as 70% of something is far better than 100% of nothing.

There are so many business meeting clubs, networking events and websites that entrepreneurs do not know which way to turn……. My point is this.. The courage required to stay the distance as an Entrepreneur, that we should have all considered some pre schooling, especially if you from a young age have not been exposed to either a family or Friend who runs a business.

I grew up working for my father in the London street markets and this gave me the tough exterior and implanted survival instincts into me, which has helped me navigate the at times perilous path that i have chosen to take.

Are there days when i just feel i would like to go back into a normal job - Yes of course, I think about all the time and more so when i have had a tough day, which seems to be every day at the moment.

Are there days when i just feel that i want to give in? Yes and i guess the thing that keeps driving me is that i still believe that i am here for a reason and that is what i have been searching for my whole life - My reason!

So if you can handle your mind being tortured and your heart being ripped out and you think that you will have courage under fire then you just might make it as an Entrepreneur!

Saturday 24th May was my 38th Birthday. I had dinner with family and friends at Down Hall Hotel in Hatfield Heath. I have been contemplating for a long time, in fact nearly two years. It has been nearly two years on from what i call D-Day, the day my life changed forever, a day from which i knew that i would never be the same man again.

The once fearless, courageous, stop at nothing man that i was is now just a glimmer in my imagination. When i look back at my courage and strength as well as my drive to succeed I realise just how talented i was…… it hurts so deeply when you realise that you did it for the wrong person.

Sometimes being a strong minded and strong willed individual can in fact cause you so much emotional pain and scaring that you may never find that former inner character that you once had, but then again thats why we have a wonderful thing called Mourning..It gives us time to heal !!!!!!!

To love unconditionally, what a beautiful thing. Sometimes when love stares you in the face it can take some 20 years of passing before you realise with a different swing of a golf club you could have hit a hole in one much earlier !

I thought that by creating Million Impossible, it would heal me and my journey would become easier - how wrong i was……

• Before i could even launch Mi i had no choice but to go into bankruptcy. You could not start from a more embarrassing, pride hitting position
• I lost everything that i ever owned and was swindled by a very deceptive person
• I had just the clothes on my back and a loving family
• I could not be the MD of my own business idea
• I could not get the financial backing to fund the idea (who really trusts a bankrupt). We could not compete with other heavily invested business networks
• I did finally raised enough capital to get a prehistoric phase one website launched (Nov 2007)
• My ex employer launched a hate campaign on consumer websites trying to bring the business down. There was nothing that we could do to stop it. It was awful but we fought through it as good overcomes evil.
• We tried to break a Guinness World Record that Guinness could not qualify (although we broke the UK record). We had to stop our global attempt to build the largest globally owned enterprise. Now someone is trying to do it in Singapore!
• If members chose we appointed them as Directors and offered them shares in the business. The concept was fantastic but it was not the right thing to do. Our due diligence should have been better and it just provided my ex employer more ammunition to try to halt our business through making false allegations (he has since gone bust for the second time owing Millions- Shame!). He said things like we were crooks and ran a share dealing shop in Spain. That i was bankrupt and was running a PLC - despite that fact that we had 6 board directors including Fatima Whitbread MBE. He also wrote to the FSA and to BERR anonymously to create an investigation into our operations. What an arsehole you are Mr DC aka Hilliard AKA happycamper AKA Bullshitting Liar with balls the size of raisins . Hopefully now that you have gone bust for the second time you will realise that there is a thing called Karma!
• I broke my hand a compound fracture and underwent 4 hours (while being awake) of surgery having  wires put in my hand to hold it together, but drove to work the next day and carried on building Million Impossible.
• I refracted my hand two weeks later and had the wires pulled out then fully plastered (that was PAINFUL)
• The business centre where we are about to move from received complaints from other tenants because we are too noisy hence about to move
• BERR did come in to talk to us and went through every operational procedure, bank statements, telesales scripts, interviewed all directors due to the anonymous complaint
• My mother has been ill with a heart condition but still stands by me every day
• My father is disappointed with my past personal relationship but continues to stand by me every day
• We had no money to market the business, we could pay for advertising, we could not afford SEO for all our websites
• We have worked day and night 7 days a weeks since last September for nothing to little pay
• We have lived on bread and butter
• The stress and pressure felt every day by the team is immense but do you know what
